Thomas Kretschmann trained as an Olympic swimmer in the GDR before he fled in 1983. Having studied film, he went on to act in several European, as well as Hollywood movies. He tells Kino what it’s like to play alongside movie greats like Angelina Jolie or Nicolas Cage.
