Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi is set to hold a cabinet meeting today to address the two week old garbage crisis in Naples. His spokesman said a "radical solution" would be proposed soon. Italian troops have been deployed to collect some of the 110-thousand tons of trash strewn across the city and outlaying suburbs. Locals who do not want a key dump re-opened have clashed with police. Powerful mafia figures and an ineffective local government are being blamed for the resulting threat to public health.
