srael has announced that it will allow 400 foreigners to leave the Gaza Strip today. But for the Palestinians who live there, there is no escape. The enclave is basically sealed off - one of the main reasons the people of Gaza are facing such desparate hardships. Israeli military commanders are allowing some international aid to get through - and the United Nations is sending badly needed medical supplies - icluding anesthetics and anti-biotics via Egypt through the Rafah border crossing.
