Gazans cautiously optimistic about ceasefire deal

News of a ceasefire deal has brought relief to Palestinians in Gaza, who have been living under intense Israeli bombardment for two years. Families celebrated across Gaza, but many remain skeptical that the ceasefire truly marks the beginning of the end.

Gazans are celebrating a new ceasefire after two years of devastating war, though hope is tempered by destruction and loss. Over 80% of buildings lie in ruins, famine grips the region, and essential supplies are scarce. Survivors mourn tens of thousands of civilian deaths. The United Nations has pledged urgent aid, aiming to reach 2.1 million people. For many, peace brings relief—but not healing.
