Georgia: Mothers call for release of jailed EU supporters

Mothers whose children were thrown in jail for backing the EU are demanding they be freed. Observers say Georgia currently has more political prisoners per capita than Russia.

Scores of young Georgians were jailed after protesting against their government which suspended EUaccession talks in late 2024. Now, their mothers are taking to the streets, demanding their release, accusing authorities of trying to silence dissent.
