German Automakers Triple Sales in U.S.

German carmakers have tripled their share in the American auto market since 1990, rising to more than 10 percent of overall car sales. According to a report released on Thursday by the German Automobile Industry Association, the gains have been equally impressive in the luxury car market, with the share of German companies like DaimlerChrysler and BMW growing to 32 percent. Close to 17 percent of all German car exports go to the United States.
