German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called on the world's rich and developing nations to send a "signal of strength" on the regulation of markets and the financial industry. She was speaking at the start of a key meeting on the issue in berlin ahead of a G20 summit in Canada next month. The gathering is being attended by representatives of the OECD, the IMF and the World Bank.
