Hochtief AG, Germany’s largest construction company, bucked a branch-wide trend and reported profits in the first nine months this year. Profits soared up to 74 million euro, according to a company report released Thursday. Hochtief credited the increase to efforts to reduce their workforce in Germany. In all, the number of workers at home and abroad went down 34,000.
