Great Britain and the Netherlands will both be sending police forces to Germany to help patrol for hooligans from their countries during this summer's World Cup, and now Germany is considering sending police to Britain as an added deterrent.

Know British problem fans will have to hand over their passports 10 days before the tournament begins, and the additional police presence at the airport may convince them not to try to sidestep the rules.

German police have pledges zero tolerance for World Cup disturbances, British and other police officers have already been given power to arrest hooligans in Germany during the World Cup.

"Under the terms of the German police law, European Union officers will have the authority to arrest," said August Hanning, deputy interior minister and a former head of the security service.
