German arms maker Rheinmetall is investing €300 million in Lithuania, with projectile production set to begin within months. The move is another step in Germany's push to deepen cooperation with NATO allies and reinforce defense along Europe's eastern flank.

From Rukla, the Lithuanian city now hosting a new Bundeswehr logistics hub, to Rheinmetall's planned artillery plant, Germany's growing footprint underscores its expanding military commitment to the Baltics.

Lithuanian officials call the partnership vital for deterrence amid Russia's war in Ukraine, while Rheinmetall presents it as part of Europe's broader defense buildup.
