Internet auction house eBay is pumping up its health related trading in Germany. According to new rules that will go into effect this week, eBay can now deal in non-prescription medications such as Aspirin. However, bids can only be accepted by pharmacists, who are legally allowed to ship medicines. Up to now, medications were on the list of items that the company was forbidden to trade in. The head of German eBay, Stefan Groß-Selbeck, told news agencies in Berlin that the market for health products represented one of the biggest growth areas of the future. The change in rules was due to a decision by the European Courts, which allowed the sale of medicine over the Internet.
