German GM subsidiary Opel is due to present proposals for the survival of the carmaker

The struggling German carmaker Opel is set to present an emergency restructuring plan today -- in hope of paving the way for government aid. Opel lost one and a quarter billion Euros last year. As a subsidiary of General Motors, Opel is facing massive job cuts and possible bankruptcy. GM workers Europe-wide have been demonstrating to keep their jobs.
