A former aide to far-right MP Maximilian Krah was found guilty of spying for China. The suspect, known as "G," is alleged to have acted as a foreign agent since 2002. DW's Matthew Moore asked Krah about his ties with "G" and probes why Germany has become a target of Chinese espionage.

The Higher Regional Court of Dresden has delivered guilty verdicts in two espionage cases linked to China. Jian G, a former aide to far-right AfD  lawmaker Maximilian Krah, was convicted of spying for Beijing after exploiting his parliamentary access, while a second defendant, Jaqi X, was found guilty of leaking passenger lists and details of Western arms deliveries to him.

The case has cast a spotlight on Krah, who faces separate allegations of taking bribes from Russia and China — accusations he dismisses as a "witch hunt." Together, the verdicts heighten concerns over Germany's exposure to foreign intelligence, its role as a strategic target, and the vulnerability of politicians to outside influence.
