German Newspaper Publishers' Sales Rise

German newspaper publishers achieved a one-percent increase in sales to around nine billion euros ($10.8 billion) last year, the first rise in turnover for three years, the BDZV industry federation said on Tuesday. Nevertheless, the increase was "no reason to celebrate," BDZV president Dietmar Wolff said. In the first four months of the current year, the newspapers' advertising revenues edged up by just 0.3 percent.
