German Pop: Alin Coen Band (live)
December 16, 2011 The Alin Coen Band has been featured before in this podcast series. This time, we catch up with the straight-talking frontwoman and her band in concert. They performed at Cologne's c/o pop festival, an event for indie aficionados and other fans of up-and-coming music.
Playing guitar and piano, singing and writing lyrics: it's all been part of Alin Coen's life ever since she was a child. Getting on stage had been a dream of hers, and she had her first chance at 18. A year later, she participated in a talent contest in Sweden, overlapping with her time as a student. One thing led to another, and she founded the Alin Coen Band with several musician friends in Germany.
What began as an experiment has become a success. Scroll down to hear for yourself in this live set from the band, featuring their gentle and laid-back tunes that have a decidedly melancholy streak.
