German Reunificaction: The beginning of the end of the Iron Curtain in Prague

Twenty years ago today, a statement by the West German foreign minister given at the embassy in Prague heralded the beginning of the end of the Iron Curtain. Thousands of East Germans had gathered there hoping to be allowed to leave the Communist east and be granted permission to travel to the west. Commemorations are being held today in the Czech capital marking that historic night. +++folgt syn+++
