German soldiers deploy to Lithuania, prompt Russia warning

In a major policy shift, Germany begins stationing soldiers in Lithuania - the first permanent deployment of German soldiers abroad since the end of World War II. As the first Bundeswehr troops arrive, a Kremlin spokesman says that a planned German military presence on NATO’s eastern flank will escalate tensions.
