German Soldiers Hurt in Pile-up in Norway

June 3, 2005

Nine German soldiers taking part in a NATO exercise in southern Norway were injured in a convoy pile-up on Friday, Norwegian police said. Two of the soldiers were in serious condition. Three military trucks traveling in a convoy rammed into each other when the jeep in front of them slammed on the brakes on a local road near the town of Hamar. "Nine soldiers were injured, including two seriously. They've been hospitalized," Hamar police official Göran Toemmerholen told AFP. The troops were taking part in the Iron Sword NATO exercises.
