German Tsunami Death Toll Up to 198

The number of identified German victims of the flood catastrophe in Southeast Asia at the end of last year has risen to 198, the German Foreign Ministry said. The number of Germans who are still listed as missing in the aftermath of the tsunami is down to 449, the ministry said. They are presumed to be dead. Since the beginning of the week, 20 more bodies were identified. According to the foreign ministry, identification efforts are now being concentrated on Thailand, where most of the German tourists went missing. In Sri Lanka, all of the missing persons have been identified except for one.
