Flula takes Hollywood

Kate MüserJuly 17, 2015

Flula Borg uses his atrocious German accent to poke fun at the English language's silliest expressions. That made him a YouTube hero - and got him onto the Hollywood Reporter's list of the 25 biggest digital stars.

With over 600,000 YouTube subscribers and 65,000 Twitter followers, Flula Borg isn't yet a megastar - but he's definitely generated a fan base by using clichés to disprove a big one. Germans, indeed, can be funny.

The Hollywood Reporter published a list earlier this week of the 25 biggest names in the digital world. The list, which wasn't ranked, included Flula on the otherwise American list. When asked about his favorite Los Angeles hangout, Hollywood Reporter quoted the German jokster as saying, "My auto. I drive everywhere in L.A. Sidewalks? More like, 'Side-why-do-you-exist-nobody-uses-you-in-this-city, you-boring-concrete-slabs-of-flatness' - am I right?"

That gives an idea of what to expect in his videos. Originally from Erlangen in Germany, 33-year-old Flula lives in California. He recently landed a bit part in the film "Pitch Perfect 2" and can be seen soon beside David Hasselhoff in the upcoming movie, "Killing Hasselhoff."
