Germany and the War in Iraq

Iraq is again embroiled in war. Although Germany was vehemently opposed to the US-led war in Iraq, Berlin now finds itself in a difficult situation. The ISIS fighters behind the war are said to be receiving financing from states that Germany has long regarded as a force for stability in the region, among them Saudi Arabia and Qatar. It’s a dilemma for Germany’s foreign policy.
