Germany has pledged assistance to Afghanistan even after NATO troops pull out in 2014. Foreign minister Guido Westerwelle held talks with Afghan president Hamid Karzai on Friday ahead of a key conference on the future of the country. The meeting in the German city of Bonn begins on Monday, and leaders from around the world will be taking part.
