Germany: The Japanese Community

The Japanese living in Germany are seriously worried about their friends and loved ones back home in Japan. At the same time a growing number of them are questioning nuclear policies in Japan.

The Rhineland is home to one of the largest Japanese communities in Europe. Some 8000 people from Japan live in Düsseldorf alone. At the moment they are following the news of events in their homeland with apprehension and anxiety and are considering how best to help those affected. They are also discussing Japan's major dependency on nuclear power.
