Germany's Constitutional Court is due to consider this week complaints lodged against the country's anti-smoking legislation. Eight German states have had a ban in force in all public areas since January. In the capital Berlin smoking is forbidden in all bars and restaurants that have no separate room for smokers. But many smaller bar owners, who are unable to provide such rooms, say the ban is threatening their livelihood.
