Germany's next leaders agree on healthcare policy as they near a coalition deal

We start in Germany, where Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives and the liberal FDP have struck a deal on healthcare policy. They have also abandoned plans to set up a special fund to fill the gaps in the financing for health care and jobless benefits. The so called 'shadow budget' had come under fire from various politicians. Today is expected to be the final day of negotiations before the two sides finalise their coalition agreement to govern together.
