High-school grad Jonas Philipp learned to pilot a glider at the Aero-Club on the North Sea island of Sylt. The club has an 80-year history but only about 30 pilots left. New recruits are scarce. Many local young people are leaving the island in search of employment on the mainland. Jonas Philipp is one of just six student pilots this year.
