Car sales in Europe continue to slide as government austerity measures across the continent kick in and popular cash-for-clunkers programs are scrapped. But global sales are accelerating, thanks to strong demand in China and the US. China in particular has been a driving force in the auto industry, and international carmakers are reaping the profits, including major German car companies.
