Project goal: More energy-efficiency with the use of new technologies in the industrial and public sector
Project type: Combined heat and power generation to supply energy to a hospital
Investment: one million Euros

India’s economy is booming, leading to a huge demand for energy and in turn rising carbon emissions. But the supply of electricity remains erratic and unreliable and is unable to keep pace with rising energy needs. A variety of projects aim to help businesses, hotels and hospitals make more efficient use of energy and lower wastage. The focus is also on raising public awareness. In the next 25 years alone, India is projected to quadruple its consumption of coal, a major pollutant.
