Greenland PM: Ready for defense talks with 'mutual respect'

At the MSC, Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen told DW Arctic security would top his agenda and reiterated Greenland's "red lines." He also stressed close EU ties and said he was due to meet the US delegation.

Greenland is a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, a NATO ally. Last month, US President Donald Trump again pushed for US control of the island, citing Arctic security concerns linked to Russia and China.

At the Munich Security Conference, DW's chief political correspondent Nina Haase asked Jens-Frederik Nielsen, Greenland's prime minister, what message he is taking to the US delegation — and how he sees Europe's role as Arctic security tensions rise.
