EU backs Denmark's sovereignty over Greenland amid US aims

Donald Trump has said "all options" are on the table in his renewed plan to take Greenland, citing Arctic security. The EU has warned that any US move could fracture the NATO security alliance.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has urged European leaders to defend Greenland's sovereignty amid Donald Trump's Arctic ambitions. A joint statement by EU leaders on Tuesday affirmed that decisions on Greenland rest with Denmark and its people. The island, rich in history and strategic value, faces growing geopolitical tension following the US attack on Venezuela.
