#Greece can meet its deficit cutting targets without imposing new austerity measures, according to Prime Minister Papandreou. He stated the cost of borrowing will decline and default will be avoided. At a press conference on Sunday, he also ruled out any restructuring of the country's national debt. Still, thousands of people took to the streets in Greece on the weekend to protest against the government's unpopular economic austerity policies. Unions in Greece have promised to continue labour unrest into autumn after six general strikes already this year.
