Ugandan groups are running talent competitions with music, poetry and dance to inspire their communities to fight climate change and protect the environment.

In Uganda, a unique competition is using music and dance to raise awareness of how to fight climate change. “Dancing for Nature,” launched by activist Herbert Banobi, blends traditional performance with environmental education. Contestants showcase songs and dances that highlight issues like deforestation, soil erosion, and landslides caused by poor farming practices. Beyond the stage, participants learn practical solutions such as planting trees and building contour bands to prevent flooding. This creative approach is inspiring communities to take action—turning art into a powerful tool for conservation and climate awareness.
