# For the first time, a senior German politician has visited troops stationed in a COMBAT zone in Afghanistan. Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg and the speaker of the Bundestag, Norbert Lammert, flew by helicopter to an outpost in Baghlan province.
