Patients with Dupuytren's contracture can't stretch out their fingers anymore because the tissue under the palm thickens and knots are formed. It's not a painful condition. But it can severely hamper everyday activity. At an early stage, the deformity can be helped by cortisone injections or radiation therapy. And, even surgery or treatment with collagenase are options.
