Franz Stangassinger from Berchtesgaden makes Lederhosen, the traditional leather pants from Bavaria. His family-run business has a history going back some 120 years. Stangassinger’s customers appreciate his hand-made products, even if it comes at a price - up to €2,500 a pair.

Stangassinger wants to preserve the traditional Bavarian designs, as does his clientele from all across Europe. And every year in the run-up to Munich’s Oktoberfest, his order books always fill up. Report by Thomas Mandlmeyer.
