Hanse Sail was officially opened on August 6 in the port city of Rostock by Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s State Premier Erwin Sellering. Visitors will be able to go on board some of the large vessels and even sail on some of them. The vessels include historic ships from France and Spain.
The event will also feature some 500 stalls and 50 fairground attractions in Rostock and the neighboring resort Warnemünde. Seven stages will host national and international artists while visitors can sample produce from partner nation Estonia and also Poland.
