A South African citrus-juice maker has switched from using polluting coal to eco-friendly sawdust to power its operations. The factory used to consume more than 8,000 tons of fossil fuel each year.

The coal had to be transported from hundreds of kilometers away. But the factory is located near several lumber mills that generate huge amounts of wood waste, which are carbon-neutral when they are burned.
