Defense lawyers for the former driver of Osama bin Laden say he is expected to ask the Pentagon jury that convicted him of a war crime to spare him from life in prison. Salim Hamdan was convicted by a panel of six military officers on charges of aiding terrorism at his hearing at Guantanamo Bay. He was acquitted of the more serious charge of conspiring with al Qaeda.
