Heidelberg – Destination for romantics

The list of guests to the city is long and stellar: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Mark Twain, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, the Rolling Stones - they were all in Heidelberg and enchanted by it.

Heidelberg has a certain mystique. It's quite a small city, but it attracts masses of tourists. Why? There are lots of lovely old towns in Germany and many are located on the banks of a river. And the castle? It's a ruin! Despite that, Heidelberg is a place people the world over long to visit. They come from the US, China and Japan. What makes Heidelberg so special? We asked around.
