Hidden Danger - Plastic Granules in Marine Animals

Much of the 100 to 150 million tons of plastic garbage in the world's oceans cannot be seen. Scientists looked for microplastics on the German island of Spiekeroog. They found tiny plastic grains on the sandy beach. They come from clothes and cosmetic products. They enter the food chain and can be detected in living organisms all the way up the food chain.
