"Historic" Talks between Taiwan and Mainland China

November 3, 2008

A new round of talks between Taiwan and mainland China is scheduled for this week. Beijing’s negotiator Chen Yunlin arrived in Taipei on Monday. Working groups were reported to have finalized agreements to be signed on Tuesday that would allow daily direct flights instead of just four days per week currently. And they would add connections with 16 new Chinese destinations, Taiwan officials said.
