Holocaust Memorial Day - At least in Israel, there are organizations that can and do help the few survivors of the holocaust

More than six million Jews were killed during the holocaust, or Shoah in Hebrew. After having lived through the trauma of Nazi Germany's attempt to eradicate Jews from Europe, many survivors found it difficult to lead a happy, fulfilled life. On this day of remembrance, Jewish groups say that many of those who survived the depradations then, live in poverty now. There is little financial support to help ease the burden of old age. But, at least in Israel, there are organizations that can and do help the few survivors of the holocaust still alive today on a more personal level.
