Two Germans were kidnapped along with five Afghans last week. One of them died in captivity, the cause of his death is still unconfirmed. The German government said it will "not accept blackmail" but will continue trying to secure the release of its national. Meanwhile South Korea is negotiating with suspected Taliban militants for the release of 23 nationals, who were also abducted last week.
