Chicago is at the center of Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown. ICE raids and National Guard deployments have sparked anger, and activists are patrolling their own streets to track and confront federal agents. DW's Benjamin Alvarez Gruber reports.

In Chicago, plainclothes ICE agents conduct street arrests of suspected undocumented immigrants, prompting real-time resistance from activists. Led by Cristóbal Cavazos, the 200-member "People’s Patrol" documents and confronts ICE operations. Amid rising deportations under Trump, locals organize safe spaces and protests. Activists like stress community action as a response to fear and injustice.
