From AI-assisted diagnostics to breakthrough imaging and new cancer treatments, Siemens Healthineers CEO Bernd Montag explains how technology could help detect diseases earlier and improve patient outcomes.

Bernd Montag, CEO of Siemens Healthineers, explains how AI in healthcare, medical imaging, and precision medicine helps tackle major non-communicable diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke, which account for most deaths worldwide. He says AI improves diagnostic accuracy, accelerates MRI scans, supports physicians in clinical decision-making, and helps healthcare systems become more efficient and sustainable.

Montag highlights two key medical technology breakthroughs: Photon-counting CT, which enables earlier detection of heart disease through high-resolution coronary imaging, and a new radiation therapy platform, which allows doctors to treat patients with multiple metastases and expands the range of cancers that can be treated effectively. He argues that these innovations are accelerating the shift toward preventive medicine while improving cancer care and patient outcomes.
