How AI can protect Germany's national parks

A new AI project aims to reveal how wildlife in Germany's national parks is reacting to climate change with data from cameras, microphones and climate logs.

Researchers in Germany are using artificial intelligence to more efficiently monitor wildlife and ecosystems in national parks. With data from more than 1,000 camera traps, sound recorders and climate sensors, AI helps identify animal species, track populations and analyze forest growth.

Scientists say this technology is crucial to understand biodiversity and how climate change is affecting protected areas.
