Forever chemicals: How bacteria break down PFAS pollutants

We can't see, smell, or taste them, but stubborn PFAS substances — known as forever chemicals — are found everywhere: in our environment, food, even our blood. They are tough to break down, but certain bacteria can digest them. A Swiss microbiologist has tracked some down.
