The Ministry for State Security, or Stasi for short, was the GDR's secret police. It spied on and monitored citizens, imprisoned opposition members, and carried out torture and murder. At its former headquarters in Berlin, we show you how the Stasi managed to penetrate deep into the private lives of GDR citizens.
