Shooting games such as paintball might be banned due to concern that they promote violence. But how does paintball work?

Paintball is a team sport in which players eliminate their opponents by hitting them with marking pellets fired from a paintball gun.

The name "paintball" refers in part to the type of ammunition used. The pellets are made of gelantin and filled with food coloring.

Many people play a non-competitive form of the sport known as "recball." It is usually played in a forest.
