How Germans feel about daily fuel price freeze

As escalating tensions in the Middle East drive crude oil prices higher, Germany has introduced a new law to curb fuel price gouging. Many drivers, however, remain doubtful it will bring real relief.

Germany has introduced new rules to limit fuel price hikes: petrol stations can now raise prices only once a day, at noon. The measure, inspired by Austria, aims to curb sharp price swings and improve market transparency as rising tensions in the Middle East push oil prices higher.

While politicians say constant price changes will be stopped, many drivers remain skeptical, saying the rules do little to ease the financial burden of expensive fuel.
